Listing rules
- Who can list. Businesses that do pond or lake work in Pennsylvania in one of the nine categories. You must be 18 or older and authorized to list the business.
- Not accepted. Real estate agents and brokers; home, septic and well inspectors; marinas, boat dealers, boat rentals, boat repair and storage, and fuel sellers; lodging and campgrounds; fishing guides, charters and bait shops; dive and tour operators; "we buy houses" buyers; lenders and insurance sellers; and lawyers.
- Be accurate. Use your real business name and phone number. Describe only work you do. Anything you claim about licenses, insurance or experience is shown as self-reported; don't claim what you can't show a customer.
- No impersonation. Don't list a business you don't own or manage, and don't imply you are, or work for, a state or federal agency, a county conservation district, Penn State Extension or any association.
- Licenses. If you apply herbicides or algaecides for hire, you must give your PDA pesticide application business license number, and it must include category D (Aquatic).
- Plain text only. No links, emails or phone numbers inside the description; no images or logos.
- Automatic checks. Every save is checked instantly. We deny listings that break these rules, use banned terms, fall in an excluded business type, or closely match the name of an existing listing (see below). There is no manual review.
- Matching names. If your business name closely matches an existing listing and neither business has verified a company email on its website domain, the newer listing is refused. If you verify your company domain and the existing listing hasn't, the existing listing is hidden until its owner verifies. If both are verified on different domains, both stay.
- Reports. Readers can report a listing (closed or dead phone, impersonation, spam or misleading, unlicensed for this work, offensive). Three reports from different readers within 30 days hide the listing; its paid time pauses and resumes when an edit passes the checks. Three hides in 90 days block the email from listing for 180 days.
- Dead websites. We check listed websites weekly. If yours fails twice in a row we hide the link (not the listing) and email you.
- Refunds. Listings removed for breaking these rules are not refunded. Listings hidden by reader reports keep their remaining paid time and resume when a corrected edit passes the rules.
- Payments reversed. If a payment is refunded or reversed through PayPal, the listing and any featured placement end automatically. Two reversals block the email from buying again.
